Self-Care Tips from Scripture
Taking care of yourself isn't selfish. It's biblical. Here are three verses reminding us to prioritize self-care and simple ways to apply them daily.
"And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength.’ The second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ No other commandment is greater than these.” - Mark 12:30-31 NLT
Love yourself well. Set boundaries, and rest when needed. Practice self-compassion so you can pour into others from a full cup.
"Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body." - 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT
Care for your body. Nourish it with good food, movement, and rest. When you care for yourself, you honor the One who created you.
"Then Jesus said, 'Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.''' - Matthew 11:28 NLT
Make sure you take time for proper rest. Step away from stress, spend time with God, and embrace the Sabbath.
God calls us to take care of ourselves so we can fully be prepared to live out His purpose for our lives. What's one self-care practice you can engage in today?
