Scriptures for Hope
If you’re feeling weighed down by depression, know this: You are not alone. Scripture offers hope and light, even in our darkest moments.
Let’s reflect on a few calming verses that remind us of God’s love and presence:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” - Psalm 34:18
Even when it feels like no one understands your pain, God is close to you.
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
God’s not going anywhere. He is your God, and He will hold you up when you feel like you can’t stand.
“Do not be anxious about anything,“but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God, and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” - Philippians 4:6-7
This is a formula to overcome overwhelming anxiety that may lead to or accompany depression. Prayer, combined with gratitude and trust in our Heavenly Father, leads to peace beyond our comprehension.
Whenever you feel overwhelmed, remember His Word brings peace, hope, and joy. God deeply loves you, and these Scriptures are here to help lift your spirit.
