How to Add FUN Back into Your Schedule
Did you know scheduling something fun in your week can help you tremendously? Try these two steps below to schedule something for the future and build your anticipation!
1. Plan something fun for yourself every week.
Anticipation can be a powerful motivator. Planning something for yourself later in the week gives you something to hope for and anticipate. When you're having a hard day, tell yourself, "If I can get through these challenging moments, I'll be able to do something fun later." Planning fun things in the future also promotes a gratitude mindset because it encourages you to focus on what you do have instead of what you don't have.
2. Plan at least two vacations per year and some 3-day weekend trips.
Taking vacations has been shown to significantly decrease symptoms of burnout, stress, and even depression. Even the process of planning vacations can be enjoyable and relieve stress! Schedule two bigger vacations each year, and sprinkle in some weekend trips to give you time away to rest and refresh throughout the year.
Whether scheduling coffee with a friend or booking your dream vacation, plan something for the future and build your anticipation!
